OMG…this could be trouble!

So, the hosting service says that they’ve found “several” disk errors on our dedicated server hard drive….this is really bad timing for the entire server to get burnt…I’m hoping they at least did a backup last night or something so we don’t lose a ton of data.. but until they get the hard drive up and running, they say they can’t even extract the data which to me seems utterly preposterous!!!!!!

We even asked them if they could temporarily put it on another server, just to get it back up and running and their reasoning is that they have to get on the HD anyways in order to extract the data… and i’m thinking to myself “ARROOOO…are you saying that our backups are done on the same STINKIN’ server????” UNREAL!!!!

we’re hoping we’re back up by tonight but as of right now, we’re looking for a new hosting company since they must have known about these disk errors due to the site going down periodically in the last 10 days…i mean, there HAS to be a reason for everything!!

absolutely unreal…we have had problems with this company around the same time every year and unfortunately, during the holidays, most of the good guru’s are OUT.. so that leaves us “screwed” literally….

There is nothing we can do at this point but sit here and wait….wait…and wait some more…till we get more info…

this SUCKS! :(

the sad thing is, i dunno if it sucks worse than last year or not cuz we had a horrid time getting on the new server last year and it seems to me this is just as sucky as that.. only that might have been suckier…who knows!!!! :(

Dang, looking at the last post I made on here, I’m WELL overdue for a new bitch fest. HAHA

well, the site(s) are down once again. That makes for 3 times in the past 10 days and i’m getting really sick and tired of it already. Our hosting service isn’t doing us any favors by not telling us what the problem is and/or providing a surefire solution! guess that means a change in companies might have to come sooner than later. The only problem with that is that it takes time to find a company and switch all the servers and/or information from one to the other. GRRR why can’t a company just perform as they are supposed to and if they see a problem, prevent it vs having to fix it when it actually breaks down?! If i had a server that looked like it was going on the fritze, i’d just replace the dang thing and eliminate any other potential problems!

we’ve got people IMing us left and right which is GREAT because last time, nobody informed us that the sites were down but with that comes the IM back having to tell them that we know about the problem and we’re working on it. it’s those pesky shutdowns in the middle of the night that get us most and that’s typically when people don’t let us know bout it.

hopefully, all will be well soon but i’m really tired of our service pulling these support boo boo’s because they cause us serious frustration!!

anyways.. a nice start to Christmas week…on the upside, i had a good meeting at 8:30 this morning and i think the clients are pretty happy with our work considering the amount of fracking turnover we’ve been having here at the office.. just bout everyone is going to leave.. we had 35 or so, currently down to 20.. OUCH!

what the hell?? you can’t use your mouse to delete sentences??? what’s up with that crap?

OH, back to work for me! :-P
